Eleonore von Schwanenflügel and Stephanie Pupke
1° - About you, introduce your self to the french readers.

We love huge carrées and decided to develop an universal charisma through their exceptional view to the beauty of extraordinary and ordinary themes. The unique style is determined by agricultural plants printed onto purest silk. Beetroots, beans, cabbage, cucumbers and artichokes convince VONSCHWANENFLÜGELPUPKE as well as their customers. The illustrated themes are arranged in a classic manner and translated to fashionthrough the application of the noblest, italian silk, wool and cotton. The scarves serve the desire for uniqueness and urban appearance. Some very graphic and photorealistic elements from architecture elaborate the completework. We invent a womenswear and scarf styles as excellent companion for variousoccasions.

2° - Why did you choose Berlin and not Paris (or Milan, London, NY) ?

The Inkjet prints are realised in Italy. In New York the US customer will find the collection for every fashion week and the ideas are brought together in Paris while various occasions.
We are based in Berlin, because we are german and it is an initial point to collect and bring things together.

3° - What are the origins of your brand ? How did the project come about ?

The selected, colourful carrées are honored with our handdrawn designs of common objects. Therefore we collaborate additionally wit a network of international artists, designers, photographers and painters to create always a unique view on things. For the last season we printed 3dimensional artichokes realized by an architects duo.

4° - Can you please present us your new collection. And what does it represent ? What are your sources of inspiration ?

GREY GARDENS is the title of the fall winter collection 2013/2014 that is inspired by the beautyful and inadequate Edith Bouvier Beale. She is blessed with imagination.
Her transfigured view on her grey gardens distinguish her as a passionated lover of the beautyful illusion.

It is the abandon to an idea of a childs dream scene or a place that is filled with everything that is desirable, defines the designs content.
The realisation of phantastic sequences showing the uncontrolled growth of artichokes in buildings of significance.
The threedimensional portrait of the Berlin Nationalgalerie and the Parisian Orangerie create the most appealing contrast to the vegetables.

The 4th womanswear collection of VONSCHWANENFLÜGELPUPKE refers to the printed squares and the unique, geometric gowns pay homage to them.
Some woolen details with specific surfaces obtain a contrasting effect and are evocative to plants trellis.

The most precious qualities are combined with intuitiv subjects.
The square format of the print designs is integrated to the womenswear - the main parts of all items are consisting of at least one of the fluid silk scarves. Some of the blouses and skirts are topstitched with ribbons to create the imagination of a plenteous hothouse.

The Looks are adapted to the thirties and fourties attitude of informal clothes, brought to perfection with golden accented jewelry made of porcellain.

5° - What song represents best your collection ?

This season artichokes are the characteristic VONSCHWANENFLÜGELPUPKE icon. A charming alliance between the handdrawn and the digital realization accesses nature to art. The best son is from Minnie Ripperton :
"Come to my garden let the stars fill your eyes
Come to my garden and walk with me
Come to my garden no more dreams filled with cries
Come to my garden please"

6° - Who would you like you to see wearing your collection ?

Come to my garden please : Vanessa Paradis.

7° - What are your breaking news ? And what do you expect from the future ?

The collection is available at :  www.saksfifthavenue.com
We would love to deliver to Paris in the future !

8° - Who is your hero(s) in fashion ? Why ?

We adore the variously gifted Karl Lagerfeld the most. The perspective he is giving onto the world is the best guidance. We highly appreciate the tradion and values of the reputable house of Hermes and the work that Riccardo Tisci is doing for Givenchy.

9° - What is your motto in fashion ?

Fashion is closely associated with beauty and beauty has nothing in common with trend or movements – it is individual, sometimes even not external.

10° - What is the accessory and garment, every woman has to possess in her guarding dress ?

Un carré imprimé.

11° - What is your favorite french word ? And what is you favourite place in Paris ?

Tartare and Rive Gauche !

Many thanks Stephanie for this privilege and your time.

Du dessin aux podiums

Some say he’s half woman half man, others say his skin has the texture of a dolphin’s. All we know is he’s like you.
